Overview
My task was to make the site more user-friendly and conduct user research to guide my design changes.
My Role: Lead UI Designer
Project Members: Yesy Lopez and Bree Bettis
Project Timeline: October 17th-December 20th, 2024
Tools Used: WordPress, CSS, and Webaim contrast checker
New Design
-Changed colors on the site to have a minimum color contrast of WCAG AA for accessibility
-Reorganized navigation menu and sub-menu
-All buttons are now functional
-Reorganized content to make the site easier to navigate
- Updated SEO to optimize searchability
-re-worded the copy to make it easier to comprehend
-Added more graphics and images
Problems with the Old Design
-A lot of tabs had nothing but text
The home page had images from the Florida campus but none were from the Raleigh location which is misleading
-Poor spacing, use of text and images, making the website look unfinished
-inconsistency between tabs
